do you leave the hot water heater on all day or do you just turn it on when you need it. as it runs on the gas only, any help will be much appreciated.
I used to leave mine on all the time when running on electric . However this led to the eventual failure of the heater i found the contacts to the heater rod had melted away .On electric there in no thermostat so its on constantly.
We then had to use gas to heat water i find it takes 30 minutes to heat a tank of water up . You also can control the temperature via the stat however i would advise against leaving it on all the time & always switch it off when the van is unattended
On our Hot water it is possible to alter the temperature of the water when using the gas heating.
When using the electric heating there is still a thermostat limiting the temperature though you cannot vary the temperature, the system however is designed to be left switched on at all times.
hi always turn off after use,(fear of burning out)but by the book it says you can use both gas and electric at the same time if you need water quickly.now and then i forget to turn off,no harm done yet.it is nice to have hot water.if using electric i turn off because of the tv and kettle, dont want to trip out the site box late on.i hate going for the warden to turn on the site box.if it only runs on gas you will not have this problem.

------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
We leave ours on all the time, it works on both electricity and gas. Only use gas when we need lots of hot water quickly, then we put both on like Michael said. Ours is under the front bed so keeps it warm when it's a bit chilly. Only put it off to use other stuff if we are on a site with under 10amp EHU. If it ran only on gas I would be tempted to only put it on when needed, but it is a bit of a bind remembering to put it on again. Ours takes about 20 minutes to heat a full tank.
think ours works off gas & 240v , never tried it on gas but fine on hook-up.think i`ll have a fiddle with it tomorrow now ive got gas cylinder plumbed in....
