Anyone any ides what could be the problem with our side lights. When switched on in the car, the lights flash and and then go off. We have just got the caravan back from its service and it appears to be from the cars side where the problem is, as they have tested the caravan and it appears fine. All the other lights are functioning fine.
We have a Kia Sedona and we did have a headlamp blow a few months back which has been replaced if which I don`t know if it is any relevance.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks Ruggy,
This has got me totally confused. I have the car checked this morning by a tow bar specialist and there is no problems the car side and at the caravan service they has said there is nothing wrong with the caravan side and still the rear car lights and caravan lights flash when switched and and do not stay illuminated. All other lights, indicators etc work fine.
Confused as to were the problem is??

I have the same problem with my side lights at the front of the van, they go on and off, or glow faintly.
I was told it was not earthed properly. So now need to find out how to earth properly!

I too have a sedonna and the same thing happened to me. The fuse for the lights is under the bonnet and not in the car at the drivers side where some of the fuses are. There is usually a spare fuse in the fuse box casing for each size of fuse and it's easy to switch over if it ever happens again In my case after getting the car and the caravan checked out someone on this site helpfully suggested that it might be the the 7inch 12s grey and black plugs attaching the caravan to the car. sure enough when i opened them out, the insides were corroded. I replaced them both and have never had a problem with the car or caravan lights since. It's a straight forward job and no more difficult than wiring a plug. there are plenty of diagrams on line and probably on this site to show you how to do it. It took me about 20mins, worth a try!
