Hi I just recently picked up a new bailey peagasus ancona 2012 model and half way to Scarborough I notices that the sidelights on the caravan had gone out, I pulled over and noticed that my Honda CRV (2010 MODEL)side lights were also out. I took it to a dealer and they said the fuse had blown, this has never happened before especially towing my old caravan (bailey ranger gt60 500/5) can somebody please help?

I had the same trouble on a new ABI a few years ago.  The hole where the sidelight wire went into one of the rear light clusters was not big enough and the rough edges had cut into the insulation.

As the caravan is new it is worth taking it back to the dealers to check

Fuses blow due to a short circuit.
This could be worn, broken wiring or wiring that has come adrift.
It could also be a bulb that has blown and causing a short.
Or maybe a faulty relay.
Water in lamps can cause faults as well.

That's not strictly correct drivenmad. Fuses blow when excessive current passes through them. While this could be caused by a short circuit, it could be caused by too much load on the circuit for example if the bulbs are wrong or simply too many for the cars wiring to handle.

Sidelights are usually fused independently for each side, if both circuits are out it may be something like a wrongly wired plug on the 'van.
