Hi all,
I have just picked up a bailey ranger 2006 and after washing I have some black marks down the van and discoloured/ dull patches, I have used blue diamond black streak remover but you can still see them. I also tried Fenwicks caravan cleaner as a streak remover but with no great results. Any ideas? would you t-cut it?
We used Fenwicks caravan cleaner on a newly purchased 'van and it removed some black streaks. Then I found a bottle of Fenwicks Black streak remover in the front locker, hidden. Used that and it was brilliant!
Also, standard thinners work....I used this on ally skin and ABS plastic with no problems, then washed with Fenwicks CC.
Just get a bottle of Autoglym and polish the black streaks, they just disappear. It does not have to be autoglym any polish will do. I even have one friend who swears by her pledge furniture polish for the job.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
Thanks for the advice all, I was a bit doubtful about the t-cut anyway Jeff so sound advice, I will just up the elbow grease and think autoglym looks the best option. Hope it looks like this when i'm done!!
hi welshboy1
I have just had the same problem whilst away in Powys, I didn't take my fenwicks caravan cleaner with us so I tried believe it or not Flash With bleach available from any supermarket and it works an absolute treat take black marks off immediately. I did try it on a small spot first to see if there was going to be any adverse effects and none what so ever! :-)
Well I managed to shift the black marks with Silky caravan and boat cleaner, washed with Fenwick's caravan cleaner and sprayed with Bobby Dazzler and tomorrow I'm going to have a crack at polishing it with Autoglym. thanks for the tip Kegonlegs.
Why would you spray it with Bobby Dazzler if you are going to polish it with Autoglym? As far as I can see the Autoglym will remove the Bobby Dazzler as you apply it. Am I missing something?

Many polishes - autoglym etc will act the same as t cut but less harsh i.e. it removes the top layer of paint and caravan paint is applied in a very thin coat. I wouldn't use it. Certainly not T cut. It does what it says on the tin and cuts the paint.
fenwicks black streak remover does what it says on the bottle.
Yep and many 'cleaners' are solvent based and I'm not sure of the effects of long term use on plastics such as the ABS and fibreglass of modern caravans. This year I have noticed a lot of caravans with fibreglass sides looking very 'tired' and I wonder if this is a result of the polishes and cleaners used combined with a bit of UV. The aluminium sided caravans do not appear to suffer the same.
