I have damp in my ABI marauder caravan. The corner has completly rotted away the seal on the outside has gone so you can see right through. The damp meter also says it is damp all the way through the front of the caravan and abit of the side. Can anyone help. How easy is it to do it yourself when you have no experience?

HI vikinghelga

have a look at my website here if you follow the link to caravan renovations you will see the work I have done

I had no idea what I was getting into when I started but with the help and encouragement from the members here I am now quite an expert on rebuilding a caravan. it really isn't rocket science , in fact its quite easy

I am sure wizard and Neil and other members of the I fixed it club will be along soon.

if you have any questions don't hesitate to e-mail me and if I can answer them I will

HI vikinghelga ,

Welcome to UKCS , there's my web page so you can see what i had to sort out http://www.homepage-host.uni.cc/p/wizard41/ .

When you start to tackle your damp it does look daunting , but as you'll see from mine and Als web pages once you've got stuck in and removed all the damp wood , you then start to see the wood from the trees ( in pun intended LOL ) . You can fix it and also become a member of the fixed it club . Any advice you need along the way just ask , btw i got all my experience from this site and a bit of help from my mate .

Once you see how these caravans are put together it ain't half as daunting as you at first thought . So go for it .

HELLO TO ALL,

Please can any one advise we are looking for  a larger caravan we are on a permanent site and wish to replace our little but cosy Abbey 2 berth with something much bigger but without a big price tag,  would love not to use the awning although it went through the whole year and withstood all the winds. It would be great to have a separate bedroom , and cassette loo. we have hot water and a shower at the moment so would still like to have these. Could any of you give us some idea whether we are dreaming or not to try and get something around £1500. ish? any advice on makes etc gratefully appreciated .

Hi Werevon , welcome to UKCS , you'd probably be better off asking your question as a " new topic " the button is near the top of the web page and to the right .

Give it a heading like " Larger caravan wanted " .

hope this helps
