Hi, am having trouble with our carver cascade 2 water heater and would really like to try and fix it myself! When I first turn the hot tap in the kitchen on it splutters and gurgles and it sounds as if the water heater is filling up, it even starts to get warm ocassionaly, but when I go back to use the water there is none... Having been trying to fix it I have noticed that the bucket I am using drains as the heater fills but 20mins or so later it has re-filled, presumably from the tank? The cold is fine. The hot is not filtered, only the cold. There is water coming from the hot overflow(?) hose under the caravan when i run the hot tap and a trickle from the drain plug even though this is as tight as I'm sure it has ever been
Any help would be gratefully appreciated!!
What year van? Most post 2000 are pressure switch system, in which case it is a real interesting one.
Does each tap make a click sound or not?
What is your pump doing whilst the water is back filling into the outside bucket?

From the profile, I'd expect this van to have micro-switched taps, however I don't think this is relevant.
I would suspect a faulty non-return valve in the supply allowing the tank to drain back to your water supply.
Couple of possible useful links: Here and click here too.
Thank you!
It's a 1992 caravan, the pump bubbles the water out slowly. I had thought from browsing the forums that it could be the non-return valve but someone had also mentioned that then the cold wouldn't work. It was only as I was typing that I remembered noticing that only the cold was filtered and so hot could be separate if that makes sense...
The taps are micro switched but I think they are fine as they do work ok.
And thank you for the links on how to do it!!
Have ordered the valve and o rings from ebay, fingers crossed, will post the outcome...
