When I remove the pipe from the inlet spigot on the side of my caravan water dribbles out. I believe there is usually a non-return valve to prevent water draining back to the aquaroll. Recently I have noticed that the pump runs for a longish time before water reaches the taps so I'm assuming it's running back to the Aquaroll.

From the Bailey parts website I know what one looks like but I can't see one installed in my caravan.

I would have expected it to be between inlet and the pump but not so. Where else do I look please?

The caravan is a Bailey Pageant Bordeaux 2009.

Depending on the water inlet housing, it could even be built into the inlet. The later Truma Ultraflow has a one way valve that can be released, but you have to remove the pipework from the back of the inlet first. You might need someone to assist from the outside while you pull the sprung part of the valve, remove an 'o' ring, and the valve will pop out.

There again, you could have a standard in-line non-return, which would usually be located only a short way inwards behind the inlet housing i.e., between inlet and branch for hot water tank.

Thanks Paul for that. I did dismantle the inlet housing but found that to be a straight through connector. Perhaps I'll just install an in-line non-return valve between inlet and pump anyway. Should solve the problem.

Have you got an on-board pump in the Bordeaux? The valve should be near the inlet and I'm puzzled you can't locate it. The one problem of fitting an additional valve might be the potential if the existing becoming siezed shut, in which case you'll obviously still get heavily restricted flow or complete loss of water.
A colleague has a 2007 Pageant, I'll consult him later in the week.

Many thanks again Paul. As far as I remember the pipe runs from the inlet straight to an elbow at the pump inlet.

I'll have another look tomorrow but I take your point re a possible future restriction.

on the truma water heater the NRV is at the end of the cold water supply pipe inside the caravan.if this fails water will run back into the barrel.a warm pump pipes a good indication of hot water going back.

Thanks Michael. The odd thing is that the spigot at the inlet box is a straight through tube (no NRV there) and there is nothing else until the elbow at the pump inlet.

It seems to me there has never been an NRV fitted.

Anyway I've bought one now and will install that in this first run of pipe.

Dear Sir

The non return valve would be located somewhere on the cold feed to the boiler, the water sounds as if it is backfeeding into the aquaroll and the non return valve will need replacing.

How can I change the Truma NRV ?
We are in La Rochelle so don’t suppose we can find a spare but pump was changed and still no water pumping.
Does one prise it off the piping?
Do I need to heat it etc

Silly question but you do have power to your pump, and it’s pumping ok?

I have just got it pumping by bypassing the accumulator !!
Do they give problems ?
