Help, I'm an owner of an old (1982ish) Monza 4.0D caravan.  The winds last week managed to suck the front window out of the window and it shattered on the ground.  The measurements are 1690x690 with a 150mm radius on the corners.

I've been to and left details at a local breakers but no joy.  I've also tried searching on internet but not having much luck.  I've left a meassge with 'ECCO' and tried a few other links on the internet.

Problem is that the caravan isn't worth much (less than £500 if that) and if I can't get a replacement then the caravan will need to go to the tip and I'm dreading this.

Is there not a window around that will fit all and be secured to the van with heavy duty sealant?  Am I looking in the right places?  Any advice would be much appreciated.

Is it a flat window? Opening one or fixed?

I would check the surrounding area for rot before looking for the glass. Sucked it out.. I cannot see how that could happen with a solid fixing.

It does sound as if the internal wood in the window frame is damp & rotten which has caused the screws holding the window fixings to pull out. One solution is to have no front window. Glue sheet of ply or alloy over front of caravan with no nails & some screws as well & paint, then fill window space on inside with polystyrene foam & put board over inside & paint. I've seen this done on an old caravan & it looked ok.
