It should have been fitted with the isolation switch when it was installed. It should be fitted in such a way that it cannot be switched to the "on" position when the EHU lead is connected to the caravan.
Thanks Developed another problem now! Have charged van battery fully, and replaced 9v battery in handset and reset the unit itself. It then works, sort of,for a while then fails again!HELP!
No isolation switch fitted anywhere! Where should I connect one in the circuit? Also, when attempting to operate mover(Reich)it fails more often than it works now!Sometimes if I waive the hand-set around a bit it works for a while, then fails again!I have charged battery, and its in good order, pretty new,and re-set the handset as per instruction manual, and fitted new 9v Duracell to hand-set,still no good! Any suggestions? Thanks,Rew.
Have you made sure the control boxes aerial is there and correctly placed?
The instructions with my unit read as follows:
Please let the aerial cable lay loosely in the vehicle. Make sure that the cable lay through the hole in the electronic box. Lead the antenna cable approx. 15-17 cm outside the caravan (possibly through the caravan floor) and fix it with clips or cable straps. Make sure that the antenna cable does not come into connection with metal parts
The car/van switch has no influence on the Reich Mover, so any mover controller drain will not be affected by that switch.
The mover's control panel derives all its power from the heavy duty cables to the mover. That is one reason why there should be an isolator switch in the positive heavy duty cable between the battery and the mover's control panel.
