does anyone know how much it will cost approx to repair a small damp patch above the front nearside dannett window (silly really of course someone will know)
noticed it when i went to remove the curtains where the track near the window seal was loose so i checked and underneath, it is rotten the board is ok it is the wood under the panel that is rotten
got the van the other day fron a ukcampsite member they cannot of realised it was there the only reason i found it was because i removed the curtains
Hi, thescream. It all depends how big the spred of damp is when you get it all stripped down. Without seeing pics of it , it's hard to say. To buy materials ( If you mean to do the repair yourself ) is cheap. You need to buy wood for the inner frame, replacement wall board, wood hardener, filler etc, Remember the damp has came in from somewhere. So you will have to locate the "leak" and possibly renew the sealant in an awning rail or some other side rail. In a nutshell ! it does not cost a lot for materials, it's the time you put into it. is it actually damp? when i found it the rotten wood was bone dry so ive been thinking (headache time) is it damp or water ingress? apart from a meter is there anyway of telling them apart?
