Hi,

Hope im in the right place to post this.....
Have just bought a 1981 Avondale and need a roof light, any ideas of breakers or possibly where I could find one.
It would seem it's a funny size 40x37 with rounded edges. Any help, ideas or advice would be much appreciated.
Fab forum by the way, learning lots x

Common to many caravans & fitted from the 1980s onwards is MPK roof light here. Its available in a number of sizes. Best place to go is large caravan accessory shop who should stock different sizes & take your old one to match up.

The skylight/roof vent shown in '2campers' link is 40x40 which is the standard size for most caravans. The aperture inside may well measure 40x37 but the actual skylight may well be 40x40 so if you have some ladders I would check the measurement on the outside of the skylight if possible to be sure what size it actually is. If it 40x40 then they should be obtainable from most caravan accessory shops.

I have an Avondale Wren (1990) and the skylight 2 campers linked to fitted mine perfectly and was easy to fit.

If it is the type linked to then it is easily replaceable. With the old roof light open, remove the 4 tiny screws from the joints, lift old one out & new hatch can be replaced from roof of caravan.

Whats gone on it? I replaced the outer cover on mine. But i may have bought the complete kit just in case?

Where would i have put it though?
