Main door. They`re a tad stiff; the door frame moves to a degree when the door is open. I can`t seem to get any oil or WD40 in there either . .they are riveted to the frame and look in good conition.
Any ideas? Thanks . . .

I had the same problem with the external caravan door when we first had our caravan and ours was really stiff. Now ours is the stable type door so there is a top door with two hinges and a bottom door also with two hinges but the principle is still the same if you have one complete door. On mine the hinges are rivetted to the main frame but are screwed to the door frame by means of cross head screws so I removed both doors leaving the four hinges on the frame. I prized up the plastic end caps off the all the hinges and then sprayed some WD40 in the top of each hinge and let it soak for about 5 minutes. I then attached a pair of mole grips to each hinge individually and swivelled each one till they went free enough to operate by hand. I refitted the hinge end caps and doors back on again and the problem was solved. This was 3 years ago and never had a problem since so probably the caravan had little use and standing for months on end causing the hinges to partly seize up.
Door hinges and door locks should be "oiled" with Graphite Powder. You get this from any hardware shop or locksmiths and it comes in a small tin. You apply it with a small brush as in kiddies paint set.
Hi Lawrence. Many thanks for all your work on making that webpage. Most interesting.
We have just bought a 1997 Bailey and I will be using some of you ideas as we do our up.
I make my own penetrating oil, a 50/50 mix of Diesel and Parrafin. Works as good as anything commercially available at a fraction of the price as a classic car restorer it is the only thing I have used for the past twenty odd years for freeing seized components.
