I've got a load of damp at the front of our caravan (Avondale dart 556-6 (2004)), and wanted to remove the upper front cupboards in an attempt to pull off all the wall board in the corner to the roof.
I've undone all the screws I can see, but still no joy. Can someone confirm if the lockers are screwed from above? (and therefore totally inaccessible). Is there any way around this that will leave me with cupboards that can take the weight of plates/cups etc?
Wanted to ensure the upper wood in the wall (that awning rail screws to) was sound before resealing rails, but not really possible with cupboards in place!!
A lot of caravans have their lockers stapled from the outside when they are constructed - there are other threads with solutions but I seem to remember someone suggesting that you use a paint scraper to get between the locker and the ceiling and cut through the staple.
Someone might come along with another suggestion or do a search on "lockers" or "cupboards" in this section.
I'll see if I can find the thread, as was about the time when we were repairing.
Thanks for the replies, I had another look tonight and the cupboards are so tight to the roof it's going to destroy the roof or the cupboards to attempt anything.
Looks like II'l be replacing the wall board and wood below the cupboards and leaving the wetness higher up.
shame, as I was hoping to get behind a small crack in the front fairing to repair it with some acetone and ABS. Guess that'll have to be done from the outside when I reseal the rails
