We are not happy. As a result of our service damp has been detected and needs to go back to the factory for seven weeks for repairs.
My questions are:
Has anyone negotiated down the amount of time the 'van was at the factory?
Any idea why it takes so long?
If we request the date is three months ahead of the date they have asked for it, ie instead of May it's more convenient they have it in August, would the damp be getting worse?
Is the reason they encourage to to collect to cut their transport costs?
Is it normal that ALL personal items are removed? This will take hours of our time plus where do we keep it all??
TIA for any replies.
Personal items - for sure there is no way a factory is going to want to work around your tea spoons, socks, pants whatever. Or carry out detailed inventory and make sure none of your personal item gets lost or damaged. Emptying the van means they can get straight to work on the repairs.
But seven weeks? The factory can build a whole new van in one day! They maybe don't have a dedicated repair team and intend to do the work in between other jobs.
