Hi, does anyone know how I can remove my awning rail on my old musketeer ci the screws are rusted and I am unable to get a key with my screwdriver to turn most of them well nearly all of them actually the sealant is very old and crumbling if I am unable to remove is there another way I could seal the rail?
many thanks

Yes you can just bodge it on around the edges, quick & easy, looks nasty but does the job. Its what I do on my caravan which is 1980s. Use a PU sealant such as Silkaflex 512. This does not have much shelf life once opened so check around the caravan for any dodgy looking seams & fill up everything you can.
I cut the heads off with a sharp screw driver and hammer, After removing the awning rail I used mole grips to remove the old sleel screws Clean off old sealent. Redrill awning rail between the holes reseal with silafix 512??? and stainless steel screws
hi there is a mastic strip you can but clean surface then put the strip right along then put your awning rail on to it then scew it up and put siloflex on the screws then screw them in makes a nice seal cheers .tom
I had the same problem removing awning rail screws this weekend. About 3hrs of selling to try and get the heads off. Bought a screw extractor drill bit set from screw fix, and each screw took about 2 mins to get out. Was really impressed how well it worked.
