Looking to sell our 2011 caravan, usually part-exchange at a caravan show but need to sell without part-exchanging as buying my parents caravan.
Where is the best place to sell? Have registered with Auto-trader Caravans. Caravanfinder seem to be mainly trade - any suggestions gratefully received! Thank you.

Anything that reaches widest audience, so ebay. Classfied ad if you don't want to auction it, & yes, you will just have to accept timewasters/dreamers/scammers/dealers etc wanting it for nowt. Its part & parcel, anywhere you advertise it will be much the same but if its not out there you won't get any potential buyers.
A good make and the right time of the year, though a bit more sun would help. It should be in demand unless unrealistically priced.
Where, everywhere you can, the forums, clubs and magazines online ads.
Many thanks for all your advice, am going to do a few and see what happens.
Can I ask how to accept payment - I am hoping to get around £8k am not keen on a cheque in case it bounces or of course that amount of cash would be too large so what's the safest?

Would suggest a bank transfer. When we bought ours privately we saw it, loved it, thought about it, went back to see it again, agreed price, got sellers bank details, transferred money.
Luckily they were with the same bank and within 20 minutes the payment was in their account and we were towing the Pastie to its new home.
Bank transfer possibly safest. If they want to pay cash, ask them to accompany you to your local bank and get them to pay the cash into your current account. That way, the notes shouldn't be fraudulent. No way I'd take £8K in cash.
