I bought a Numax battery last year and have had it on a maintenance charger for the past 2 days. However the charger is still on the red light. Used a multimeter to check and gave a reading of 12.3.
I'm guessing that it should be closer to 12.8 after 2 days of charging. just thought I'd check with some experienced caravanners before spending £100 on a new battery.
An £100 for a battery no need to spend that much,it sounds like yours has had it.If you go to Alpha Batteries at Rochdale you can get a 110ah for £65 and thats with a four year warranty we have had it for four years now and it's still going strong,we bought a ULTRA 110ah leisure battery it cost £65 Their address is UNIT 110 SPOTLAND BRIDGE MILL ROCHDALE TEL 01706356356 not far from you hope this helps

That sounds a more reasonable price.I was looking on the Go Outdoors website. Tayna batteries website looks good. Selling the same model that was £100 at £65 with next day delivery.
Saying that though, I might be able to squeeze another year out of the current battery as just been able to get the caravan out of storage and use the mover to get it up a small slope onto our drive. As long as I'm using EHU on sites should be enough to see me through. Thanks
You said you " had it on a maintenance charger for the past 2 days", if that was even a 2 Amp charger it would not have charged a 100Ah battery.
Some chargers would not even start if the battery was really low.
However being low for long could well have badly damaged the battery; then even a 4 year warranty would not cover it if the seller bothers to properly check its condition.
I used my mover excessive one year putting the van behind the garaage took about twenty shunts to get it behind the garage as I had to watch the dividing wall between my property and backing property (wall over 150 years old) my Numax 110ah batt was nearly flat. I removed from van and put on charge after topping up cell levels, using a winter storage battery charger which only supposed to keep battery fully charged when not in use. It took 6 days for lights to change from red to yellow then further 3 days from yellow to green when tested batt 12.9 volt was okay.but noticed charger changed to yellow when reconnected after 10 days but back to green after 2days left connected till March start of new season all systems go but batt kept gettin longer to reach full charge as new season went on when fitted in van and did not hold full charge when not using van for more than week/10days but cant complain it was over 6years old and been used on two vans
