Hi need help the fridge in our caravan won't budge, tried looking inside for screws there aren't any, removed the vents outside, it feels really stuck like if I force it it will break something. It is not cooling at all not on anything, there is no light to even check if it's receiving power. Any help would really be appreciated. Wanted to turn it upside down as I heard it may help ( from other posts on site). Think it may be the element but can't get the beggar out without fear of breaking something. There are deffo no screws inside so am lost. Chris

How old is the caravan and what make of fridge is it? This information will help as older fridges had different fixings.

At the top of the fridge there is a grill between the worktop and fridge which you have to remove first which will then leave a gap at the top of the fridge. Inside the gap are two 'L' shaped brackets either side and that is where the top fixings are so you have to remove the two that fix either side as you can't get a screwdriver in to remove the two in fridge top. When the screws are removed you have to tip the fridge forward as there is a wooden block on the floor at the back that the fridge rests on. You have to pull the top forward then lift it over the ridge at the bottom. That's how mine was fitted anyway in my previous 1992 Coachman caravan.

Thanks tango but at the top of the fridge is a drawer, when removed I can see the connections on top of the fridge. There are no L shaped brackets. Below the fridge is wood panel so it's not on the floor, it's like they built the caravan round the fridge.

If there is a drawer at the top of the fridge then the gap is probably wider than having a grill which allows screwdriver access to remove the screws. They only fitted 'L' shaped brackets on mine because the gap was too small to even get a short chubby screwdriver in but try removing the screws and see if the fridge tips forward for a start. The wood panel may not be on the floor but the panel is for the fridge for support as it's not a box shape the same as a domestic fridge. If your fridge is fitted to the side of the caravan the support may be different but mine was fitted at the rear end (end kitchen layout) so the contour of the caravan rear panel is not identical to the caravan side which is vertical.

Ok will have another look and see if I missed the screws, will let you know thanks and yes it is on the side not at the back of the caravan.

Some electrolux fridges have 2 screws each side just inside the fridge and they are covered over with plastic covers you have to remove these to expose the screws ,it should pull foreward just enough to undo gas pipe etc.you will have to look at past posts to get all the info .Yours might be different
