im scrapping my trusty avondale grampian
after a few years service
a lot of parts have been removed to go in a campervan conversion
Anyways
Does a caravan have a scrap value ? the grampian is an aluminium body AND chassis as i understand it ... if so what kind of scrap value can be expected ?
and is there anyone in glasgow / central scotland who specilaises in taking caravans for maximum value
Its a galvanised steel chassis isnt it? Not aluminium.
Pretty sure mines got a galvanised coating.
Front and rear panels are fibreglass, Just the roof and side from aluminium.
As a complete caravan not a lot because the floor and fittings and insulation etc will add weight they dont want and need to dispose of.
My local scrap metal place charge £10 per tyre left on a vehicle.
Selling the chassis for someone to make a trailer would net the most value. If they dont want the walls then a scrap man will give you something.
But that will leave you with the front and rear panels that nobody will want.
Unless you store them and hope someone needs them eventually.
I am so upset with you also.. You killed a Grampian. I must avoid you in future you may want to kill me
