Hello folks, Im not new to caravanning but am new to owning a caravan and recently repaired our 1990 Lunar Delta 560-4 which we got in May 2014. The van is now solid and dry and no damp anywhere thankfully, the problem is everything is working except for the hot water heater and water supply doesn't run from any of the taps.

The pump seems to be working, the freshwater tank is full but there doesn't seem to be water flowing to the hot water tank. The tank BTW is working and fires up without a problem on gas. I believe and am convinced there is a blockage/airlock somewhere in the system... I also think the the pump isn't primed and TBH I have no idea how to prime it...

The van is installed with a Carver Cascade 2 water heater..

Is there a manual or should there be an electric pump attached to the vans water supply for when a tap is switched on. The taps don't have the usual switches on them for them to tell a pump to switch on...

Has anyone got a schematic diagram as to how it should be plumbed as the previous owner mumbled something to me about him bypassing something to do with the water. I wasn't listening to him TBH and wasn't going to complain as we got the van for a very very cheap price...

Any help or comments please dont hesitate..

Matt

We had a 91 luna4 delta and the non return valve from the water heater was scaled up we took it apart dropped it in vinegar and cleaned it, put it back still working 9 years later when van was sold.

the non return valve is working fine - thank-you :)

The diagram is OK but I need a plumbing diagram for the system and how it all connects as Im convinced there is a pump(s) missing....

Thanks for the replies though :)

It takes time to fill the hot water tank. With water in your aquaroll or internal tank open the hot tap and you should here a quiet hiss as the air is replaced in the hot water tank with water. Then about a minute or so later it will start spluttering with water. Once it stops spluttering the hot tank is full. If you now light the cascade ( 1990 was before gas and elecric cascades were made) and wait 20 minutes and you should have hot water.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

Righto - after much headscratching, a couple of visits from my B-in-L and his thinking skills and my gungho-ness, we got it sorted :) :) :)

We by-passed the internal tank and everything came to life....

So we now have hot and cold running water....

Turned out the plumbing was all cocked up from the previous owners efforts....

Thanks for the help and suggestions folks :)
