Damp usually turns out to be far worse when you start investigating than it appeared to be on the outside. However, if you are confident at DIY then it could probably be repaired. It depends whether you want a project and have the time, space and money to do it, or a caravan you can use now.
I don't see why you can't get a season out of it and then repair at the end of the season. The accessories alone are probably worth £500 and if you fix the van it would be worth well over £2000. What's the harm in trying.
This is what we were told by the caravan repair shop that found our damp - Get a cover to stop the water ingress getting worse and seal all rails with cheap silicone until you are ready to fix. Screwfix do a silicone remover for when you need to get it off as silicone can't be used permanently.
Sounds like a bargain to me, nothing is unrepairable & you will be lucky to find a caravan of that age with no damp at all unless it has been previously repaired.
