I collected my Elddis XL Hurricane year 2000 from storage today. When I got it home and un hooked it from the car I released it as normal but can't seem to now push the handle (that you use to lock it onto the tow ball) down. It seems to go down if I hitch it to the car. Does any body know why. I haven't had this issue before and hope I haven't got a problem developing.
Thanks in advance.
Of the three hitches we've had (2 Alko and one BPW) they all needed something placed inside the hitch socket before the handle could be pushed down. Normally this would be the towball when towing but when sited you can feel inside for a little button that, when pressed, enables the handle to go down. The button is normally pressed by the towball engaging fully.
Two of our hitchlocks came with plastic balls that, when pushed inside the hitch socket, had the same effect enabling the handle to be pushed down.
Thank you for the replies. I have found the button inside but can't push it in by hand, perhaps it needs the weight pushing down on the tow ball, anyway I'm reassured that I don't have to much of a problem. Again thanks for you replies.
