Hi, just wonder if anyone has a possible fix for a leaking front locker on my 1993 Bailey Avallon. Just come back from a 6 day break and on one night the heavens opened and on inspection the following morning found a lot of water within the front locker, tried tightening the locks and did a hosepipe test but no joy. My concern is that the floor of the locker is wood and has already started to rot so was hoping to solve the leak and hopefully repair the floor.
Yes it's not uncommon to have a front locker let water in.
Our locker had a small plywood floor that was completely knackered after 20 years. It's got a new bit of plywood in now and I'm not expecting to have to replace it again :-)
You actually need a new seal by the sound of it for the door. One can be had here just measure the old seal and add a wee bit on.Match your seal here.. Seals direct
Maybe the bailey Avalon has a seal. I don't think my front locker lid ever had a seal, it doesn't even have hinges. I only keep waterproof things in there.
Mine is just the same no hinges just 2 metal plates that slide in it does have a seal but obviously doesn't fit tight enough. Think I'll resign to the fact that it's going to leak no matter what but drill extra drain holes and coat the floor in some sort of waterproof substance to stop any further damage or maybe even replace the floor with pvc or new ply and treat it.Thanks for all the great advice.
