Had a tyre blow out last week,fitted the spare and the wheel appears to be at an angle.I was wondering if i have got a bent axle/stub axle.My van has a BPW chassis.

Is the wheel flush to the hub? Any odd wear pattern to the tread on the old tyre?

Did you notice the old wheel at a funny angle also?

Possible the spare wheel doesnt fit properly?

Good point,i havnt really had time to look at the van.The wheel was alright before the incident,which at the time scared me to death,the van nearly flipped over.When i drove the 30 miles home the wheel showed no sign of vibration which i would have expected if it was not flush to the hub.Will have a look tomorrow if i have time.

the rubber in the axle can collapse.. its more likely to be this than a bent stub axle.. i think the only cure for this would be a new axle..
