Hi Folks

While away with our van last week I noticed a small water drip from both sides of a wheel well on further inspection it has shown itself to be coming from the base of the base of the tap where the push fit connecters go in , now my question is in the base of the tap there is a pin which retains the connecters on my tap this is metal and rusty and firmly stuck in ,should it come out to allow the removal and fitting of the hot and cold connectors ?

                    Best regards Chris

Hi chris, never looked for just the pin but it should be ok with a clean up. Push through with a small flat screwdriver. Be careful! Probably just an o ring needs replacing on one of the pipes.

The pin in my tap is rusty not a bit of chrome left on it the tails have flats where they have been touching the pin this is where the leak is coming from so i will change the tails and o-rings so far a light hammer and centre punch is not moving the pin if it was not a tap i would be soaking it in a releasing agent might try the freezer tonight see if i can shrink it slightly
thanks for the advice it is much appreciated

           :-)
