We bought a brand new Sprite Major 6 in April 2014 - done approx 6 trips in and found a few little problems with it, ie screw holes still visible, tap leaks so the caravan has gone in to be looked at. The report has come back and it needs a new shower cubicle, new vinyl and wallboardings, new taps and the one that concerns me the most is a new bulkhead for the right hand side. We found a screw under the fridge and they say they've located where that has come from and advise me to get my wheels balanced for 10.00. Surely a 6 month old caravan wouldn't need that already.
I'm really concerned at all these faults are being found so soon after manufacture, what will happen say 5 years down the line.....
Many thanks,
Clarzier x

I would be kicking up hell with the manufacturer to tell the truth.
They have offered to fix it just now so i would say its too early to claim "Unfit for purpose".

When you get it back i would go over it with a fine tooth comb to make sure the work has been done to standards.

I know how you must feel getting a brand new van with problems   would put anybody off.

Doesn't sound good does it?  But, assuming the report you have received has come from the dealers, at least they seem to have accepted the problems which is half the battle.

I would be inclined to see if the repairs are done satisfactorily and in good time before deciding what to do.

I am not too sure about the wheel balancing question. Opinion is undecided on here although most seem to think it is a good idea.  Are the dealers saying, however, that without them being balanced the caravan is going to jump around so much that all the screws will fall out !?  If so. why weren't they balanced prior to sale ?

Good luck
