It might be a daft question to ask but I'm new to caravaning having just brought a 92 elddis xl. I need to do a small repair under the front box where it has split but I don't know if it is abs or fibreglass? Or can I use a fibreglass repair on either material?

Any help would be much appreciated

Isopon P40 which is grp reinforced body filler is good for these sort of repairs & it will repair plastic. clean area with glasspaper to provide a key & if you can repair from inside it will look better.

Will these fixes work even if it is a fibreglass body?

You can fix anything with Isopon P40. It is ideal for fibreglass.

Look at the rear of the panel. If you can see texture of the fibreglass then you know which one you have.

My ABS rear panel is smooth inside and out.

Front is Fibreglass and has a rough texture inside.

Check as advised and it's fiberglass. Got the stuff and going to do repair tomorrow. Next issue will be repainting the repaired area!

If your repairing from the back take some sandpaper and rough the surface to get a good bond.
