Hi all I have a lunar delta 550- 5 twin wheelbase 5 birth1996
upon return we noticed that when stopping there was a banging sound.
we have a altko stabiliser tow hitch. But if I pull the handbrake on full caravan can stiill br pushed forwards. I am disabled. I have abled bodied freinds.but we found when we wher travelling the handbrake would bounce on and apply its self so we tied it on the down or off position"as ya do".but there dosent seem to be any pressire applied on brakes even when handbrake is pulled fully on.any ideas on where to start first can i adjust handbrake?.could it be brake shoes? If it is the brake shoes were on earth do i buy them from?.and is there a system to check which has gone by sequence.i thought if it was break shoes I would of smelt them very confused on where to start.HELLLLLLLLLP.

You need specific mechanical knowledge to change brake shoes on a caravan. Chassis will be either Al-Ko or BPW & spares are easily available for both. Caravan or trailer supplier will do them.

From what you describe I suggest you get the caravan fixed before towing it any distance again. If you do not have the mechanical ability to do this then I suggest you get a mobile caravan service person to do the job.

Loads of helpful stuff searchable via google. here for example.
