Hi there i am about to fit a new fiamma sky light to the van next week,on opening the box and inspecting it i noticed that you have to screw twenty screws to secure it to the roof,i am not very please about making twenty screw holes in my roof when the sky light only measures 40x40 a bit over the to if you ask me,the old one is only sealed and then screwed down from inside,do you think i could just seal it and do the same on the new one, many thanks for you advice ged
I think the fiamma roof light can be fitted anywhere in the roof. It doesn't require a timber frame in the roof, hence lots of silicon and 20 screws into the thin aluminium sheet. If you have an existing opening with a timber frame already there, you may be ok with fewer screws.
Fiamma products are generally very good quality and well designed. I would go with their recommendation of 20, and apply plenty of silicon where specified to make sure it is kept watertight.
Thank you but twenty holes in the roof when the one im taking of is only stuck on and sacured with four screws from Inside and never give me a ny trouble I dont know thank for you input ged
