Just been quoted £270 for my elddis twin wheel first service seems very expensive or is this the norm wondered if anybody knows a mobile service near Wakefield that can service my van at storeage and will allow me to keep my warranty up to date
Have a look on the MCEA(mobile caravan engineers association)website. Sorry can't do a link as I'm using thigh pad.
I think our local dealers charge about 220-250 for a twin axle.

That sounds about right to me, we have just been charged £220 by our Elddis main dealer for a first single axel service. They do check for any warantee work and sort it out at the same time though, which is something that a mobile approved workshop engineer would not do, as all warantee work has to be done by the dealer who sold the caravan to you.

RG 220 seems steep as our Lunar dealer charges 180 for a single axle and warranty work covered in first service.

I pay £200 for a full four hour service from my mobile engineer (East Anglia) so cheaper than dealer prices. My engineer doesn't have a problem with me hanging around (van on storage site) and talks me through his work - very reassuring.
I take my Sprite twin axle to Conwy touring park which is approved by the NCC and both clubs. This means that it covers the van for warranty purposes. If I needed any warranty work done it could still go to a Swift main dealer.
Service cost £195.
If you shop around you will find the best deal near you.
Hi I'm a mobile service engineer based in Rhyl, North Wales and my twin axle service charge is £180. this includes the alko one shot nuts. this is within a 30 mile radius of Rhyl. A small surcharge if further to cover fuel. Single axle service is £155 again within a 30 mile radius. I'm currently offering a discount to OAP's if they book a service to be carried out in Nov/Dec 2014, 10% discount of the bill.
