Surely the 10 year warranty is only for water ingress. The warranty for everything else is 3 years.
That’s what’s on my Bailey. Am at 4 years next month.
It’s never seen a main dealer for servicing at all, my local independent fitter looks after it at 225 this year for a twin axle service.
Had brakes replaced under warranty that was with Alko direct.
A couple of Blinds have gone now but not under warranty.
Only thing left under warranty is water ingress, which if it happens is the rear band strap on the roof that leaks.
I think a lot of car manufactures play a similar game with warranties and make you believe that they are only valid if they get the carry out the checks and servicing. I found this inaccurate with Audi in particular where there is no requirement for me to get the servicing done by Audi themselves to maintain the warranty. I'd check the warranty itself and check whether these overpriced solutions are in fact required to be carried out by themselves.
Ive just had water ingress on my bailey 440 3 years old. Could not be bothered with bailey. Sorted issue easily, tightened joint clamps up 7 off all loose, bad assembly at bailey.
OP here. Just to follow up on this, we sold our caravan a few years ago, but my overall impression was that the 10year warranty was a total waste of time. The servicing was by and large a tax to pay for the warranty. Nothing seemed to be covered and taking the van to be serviced was a massive pain. If I did it again I wouldn’t buy a Bailey and I would have servicing done on my drive.
Totally agree with you. Our dealer wouldnt service it . Said it was covid but they were open. I ended up having it serviced on drive and company sent for warrenty parts from bailey who did not respond. Warrenty is a waste of time. Just get it serviced yourself with someone and if like me, repair the niggles yourself.
In the owner's handbook if you study the warranty carefully the damp ingress warranty probably only covers permanently sealed joints. Chances of those joints allowing water ingress it highly unlikely. It does not cover leaks around the windows, doors lockers, cracked panels etc.
The 10 year warranty is very misleading but unfortunately legal and accepted by the Advertising Standards.
Our caravan is generally serviced by a mobile AWS technician and they are recognised by the NCC and your warranty is maintained.

Car and caravan industry totally different animals, and more than likely will remain so.

How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

I don't think any warranty work can be carried out by a man on the drive, let alone order parts.
