Rather than spend all evening retyping out the details on this, can I respectfully ask you to Google something like:
"Alde antifreeze change", there are lengthy discussions on several forums. Any more specific questions then request here and we can try to address them.
A starting point is what is in the system at the moment, reddish or blue/green fluid?
These don't normally mix so there is a risk of making a mistake, however there is a new product that is compatible with either; it is VW spec G12++, note very carefully the ++.
Readily available Comma Xstream G40 meets VW G12++ Spec, and will give a 5 year life of corrosion protection.
Edit: You will need to know the location of every bleeder for DIY gravity charging; that can be the most difficult task you face, finding them!
Thanks for the info. JTQU - I bought the antifreeze today and will give it a go over the weekend - it can't be too difficult apart from the refilling as you say. I will be back on if I am struggling!
Hi just changed mine on a Bailey Unicorn Seville for
the first time. Had no problems at all.The dealer wanted £200 to change it, said it would take over three hours.
It cost me £25 for antifreeze (Comma Xtream G40 G12++ spec 5year & Dis water plus £10 for fittings to make the flushing equipment.
changed mine last weekend- Bailey Barcelona a doddle really and not something anyone with some DIY skills should be afraid of doing - where do they get £200 from??
Is it five years that the antifreeze last for when fitted in a van from new.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Hi Most new vans have the 2 year antifreeze in from new but when you change it it's best to use the 5 year.
They said it takes 3 hours at & £50 an hour plus antifreeze.
Thanks for that. Van was in yesterday for it's service, and it's now three years old, and they never mentioned it.

My dealer has a pump but still wants £200
. They said it can take 3 hrs and it's difficult to get rid of trapped air. I did not have any problems.
I can't understand why Bailey dont include the antifreeze change in the service requirments.
And I can't understand why van manufacturers don't fill the systems with 5 year life fluids, and specifically the cross compatible, G12++ spec stuff.
The cost difference, relative to the two year life products, if any is only £2 trade.
I am all for cost cutting that helps the buyer in bringing down the bottom line, but this one fair and squarely hurts the buyer; though helps the dealer!
