Get some one on the inside looking for the leak as you start from the bottom of the wndows with a hose or watering can.

It sounds as if you need new window seals get them here, just measure the length and add a bit on and look at the ends of yours to find right one,,Seals direct

I have an 80s ABI & I just sealed the outside without removing anything & front is now dry. Its probably leaking through seam across front above window. Use polyurethane adhesive/sealant like Sikaflex512 or Tigerseal this will do a permanent job. Clean all the seams & run some sealant along them. Also seal around grab handles as water comes in through them as well.

You will need to remove front top rail and centre roof rail clean and reseal with sikaflex or mastic non drying sealant, never ever use silicon sealant.Top rails on abi caravans are constant issue and common on these,I must of resealed 200+ of these vans.Just make sure you dry van out first before you reseal anything, remove all trims etc too to allow to fully dry.sounds like its been leaking for some time, just because you cannot smell or see leaks, doesnt mean its only just started. There might be more work required,if you want more info just email me.

I'am just started to repair a 4_00d marauder for my son in law that's got damp problems under the front window due to water getting in around the grab Handel's and the front trim below the window ,we have already removed the front seat frames and the rotten wall boards and the wooden frame behind it and tomorrow we will start making the front window frame and hopefully will have that in place and the front trims removed and resealed by Sunday night with two of us working on it .

Thank you so much for everyone's advice. We have found the leak! It was the rail so onto seeing how bad the wall is inside!

Things never go to plan when repairing old caravans ,the door framework desired to make a break for freedom so we have had to repair that and the woodwork that fastens the side wall to the caravan floor has well ,its a good job I had plenty of wood and over bits left over from odd jobs around the house and from when i helped my dad repair his last caravan .

Buy a adapter lead for your caravan hook up lead so you use the mains lights and heater in your van it has a normal three pin household plug on one end of it that you put into   a handy socket any caravan dealer will sell them ,I am hoping to get the van completed for next weekend .

I have got the new framework done at last come Sunday the new wallboard will be in place and the son n law can rebuild the seat seat boxes as the old one's were not very strong and I had the impression that they would fall apart the 1st time some one sat on them once he has done that the 12v lights will be my next job then a new battery charger ,thankfully the mains side of things in the van seem to be working as they should allthourgh I will check it for my own peace of mind .
