Hi guys hope someone can help, pretty new to the caravanning game so spent many hours online searching without much joy.
Currently have a Thetford n112 fridge freezer which has packed in, had it off to a few places to look at it and attempt to repair but no joy including the place I bought the van from. They don't want to help in anyway.
It appears that it cant be repaired and I cant afford a brand new one as they are £750+, searched ebay for a second hand one but seem hard to come by.
Really what im after is help in picking another same sized fridge, would be so much simpler if the fridge didn't have to go over the wheel arch. If anyone can assist would be so appreciative.
Does it work on any of the supply source? Is the display panel giving a fault code? What year is the van? Sorry for the questions but I had the same problem and made a good repair. There was a batch of fridges with faulty electronic boards in 2007/8
Sorry for the delay getting back to you all. thank you for your responses. I have been looking round for a normal under counter fridge but unable to fit on because of the wheel arch. Could get a really small one and build a shelve but don't want to lose the fridge space.
Phil the fridge wont work on any power source, tried tipping upside down and can hear the gases running but still no joy. Heats up at the back as it should and the freezer then attempts to cool but not for long then just gets warmer and warmer.
My van is a 2006 model, there isn't a display panel like on the newer ones, just the dials. The people I have had it into to attempt to repair changed the electric board and elements in the hope it was one of them that will fix it but still not worked. So really now weve spent £220 to repair and still have non working fridge freezer, little gutted
It sounds like it's trying, I'm not sure the repairer has done you any favours. Has the thermostat been changed? The only other possibility I can suggest is a gas leak. I think the gas is actually a liquid and not a gas until heated so thetfore you might not lose it all but if the circuit is open it will never work.
