I have recently acquired a 2008 Elddis Avante 462 with which I am generally pleased . However what goon designer thought it a good idea to put the awning light near the front of the van and not over the door? Like many people I have long given up on cumbersome full awnings in favour of a lightweight porch awning and the stupid positioning of the awning light means I have to choose between :-
1. Positioning the awning so that the light is in the awning but I cannot open the nearside window because the awning side is across it.
2 Not being able to use the awning light because it is itself obscured by the awning side.
These problems have never arisen with my previous vans because sensibly the awning light is where it needs to be i.e. over the door.
Has anyone else had thbe same problem and how have they overcome it?
you're not going to be able to move the light as that's going to leave holes in the side of the caravan unless you fit a second one over the door. not as daft an idea as it sounds as you'll have a light in the awning and one outside for when you come home in the dark you wont trip over anything and you'll be able to find the zip.
Other than that all I can think of is electric or battery powered lights inside the awning hung on a pole unless there's something available with suckers for the side of the van.
