Hi There,

New to caravanning, just got our first van Adria Adiva 532LD 2004. Picked this up a couple of weeks ago.

I have just been checking the van over, I do not have any power to any of the sockets.

leisure battery is charged and showing 12V, I have power to the radio, the water heater, Arial, elec flush on the loo but do not have anything to the sockets.

I have checked the fuse in the fuse box under the seats and that is fine!

Before I call the warranty company is there anything else I should check or do - was wondering if there is a reset button that I cannot see or something.

Thanks in advance

Darren

Ok - sorry if this is a silly question, but I assume you are plugged in the mains when testing the sockets ?

240V sockets only work when plugged in with a hookup cable. Most other things will work on 12V from the battery.

Hi Clever,

very sensible question! for some reason I thought they would run off of 12V!!!

Penny dropped a couple of mins ago and I was sneaking back to delete post!

Thanks for your help.

Cheers

The switched 3 pin sockets are operated by 240 volt mains which has been previously stated that you need either a hook up cable from a mains supply directly from the home or if pitched on a campsite. Any 12 volt sockets are 2 pin only which don't incorporate a switch.
On a campsite you just need the hook up cable shown in the first link and if you are connnecting to the mains supply at home you will also need the adapter shown in the second link.

Do you mean that you are tripping the campsite ehu? This will happen if you try to draw too much current. Example, if you are running a fan heater & then switch on an electric kettle the ehu will probably trip. Both appliances together draw too much current so you need to switch one off to use the other.

It would be advisable to start a new thread with your specific question as it's confusing now as to whether the replies are intended for the OP or yourself.

We had a similar problem, sockets not working but fridge and water heater working on electric. A friendly electrician on site investigated and found an intermittent fault on the cooker hot plate.which was wired in with the sockets in the MCB in the Control panel. He disconnected the hot plate at the MCB and sockets back on.
Don't know whether you have a similar fault.
