The "Cracking"is caused by flexing and painting over it wont solve the problem only delay it.

If your still wanting to paint the front i would use Plastikote which comes in all colours and is quite "Thick" so should fill in the cracking.

thanks Jeff, i was thinking of filling the cracks with silkaflex, rubbing down to rid any grime and wax then plastikoting with three or four coats, appreciate that this may only last a couple of years but hopefully it would look better.
thanks
kevin

if its fibre glass it can be repaired and painted.. if its ABS plastic it cant..

with fibre glass the cracks need grinding out and filling the panel can then be re-painted..

trog100 is right. The cracks need grinding out.

Then re-layer the glass fibre as appropriate to the depth/width/length of the repair.

Then once filled and rubbed down make sure every scrap of wax\polish is cleaned off the rest of the panels; thoroughly mask up; 'mist' some plastic primer on; let that go off; then single or two pack primer and then the matching top coat (single pack or two pack to match the primer).

You should be able to get an almost perfect colour match if you use a good car paint supplier. Take a sample and they will mix it while you wait.

Have done many boat repairs this way. have sprayed gel coat dozens of times as well, but that is a bit more complicated.

If your base repair work is good and the spraying is done done well:-
a. It should look new.
b. It will last many years.

Want to paint over the pitted vinyl wall covering in my motorhome any suggestions on doing this?? I was going to cover with PVA glue after I cleaned the walls and use kitchen emulsion .
When I say pitted it's not a smooth vinyl .
Many thanks Hissy.
