On our last trip out the spout bit of our sink tap came off in my hand - honestly I wasnt forcing it. Does this mean I will need to replace the whole unit, which seem really expensive, or can I just get the bit which I broke off? Also, has anyone else had problems connecting their waterpump to a Sterling Europa? Ours seems constantly to spout water onto the grass. Last service the guy replaced the O rings - but this doesnt seem to have helped at all.
You do not state the year of your van. When we had a Europa new in 2001 it had the type of tap that the spout folds down to allow top to hinge down above.Ours had a small crack which allowed the spout to come out. Unfortunately this means a complete new tap.As to water inlet leaking, if O rings have been replaced this may also be a small crack in the housing which opens up under pressure.
If you have to replace tap i gained access removing top fridge grill to undo nut under tap and the two pipes
Reich taps and some other makes you can just replace the spout which starts about3/4 inch from base of tap,
This is held in with a very small grub screw about 2 or 3 mm allen key or could have been replaced with selftapper.
have to work upwards with hands in sink, the spout also has a o"ring about 2mm cross section 15/20 mm internal dia.
just barely nip up when replacing or you will split spigot on moveable base of tap ,which will then cost you between £52 - £ 129 for new tap (reich) depending where you buy)
