If you mean you are getting condensation in 'van overnight while you are sleeping in it in cold weather then theres not much you can do except open windows some more.

Or are you getting condensation in an empty caravan that is well ventilated? If this is the case you might have water ingress in bodywork caused by leaking seams.

Hi
The condensation is only when we're using the
Caravan.when it's empty and the cold air is
Circulating there's no condensation ? We were
Wondering if this could damage the van in any
Way ? Is this normal for any van ? Wet walls ? Oh
By the way the walls are just wet behind the seating and
Along the wall where the bed is ??

When you are using the caravan, what appliances are you using that would cause condensation?

There will always be some condensation in a van with cooking, people breathing etc, but there is usually enough ventilation in a van to minimise this.

If wet has got into structure due to failed exterior seams or window seals this would tend to increase condensation as warm breath hits cold walls. If you are worried about it you need to get caravan damp checked.

But assuming caravan is watertight then condensation you describe is harmless. You might find underside of bed mattress or cushions feel damp as well but nothing much you can do to avoid it.

hya not much you can do about behind the seats . but we've found that the plastic condensation boxes they sell in Poundland really do work . At present we have six spaced in ours under the seats and in cudboards. We have to change them now and again as they fill up . There are some that hang in the wardrobe but can't remember where we got these.

I think your not heating your van enough. If your like me your van is not getting used much and when it does it takes a wee while to really "Dry" it out.

It takes my van in damp weather about 2/3 days to heat up.Even though in the van is warm the heat must be allowed to go into the walls to like i said "Dry" them out..

All soft furnishings left in closed rooms with no heat absorb moisture when the weather gets colder. Before you go put the windows on the night catch and open the roof vents slightly. Then put a fan Hester in there turned on for a couple of days and warm the van through, make sure all the cupboard doors are open at the same time. When you go away everything will be dry and the amount of condensation should be minimal

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
