Well I have just taken off our Protec cover which has been on the van since early November and I am glad to say that it looks just the same as when I covered it no marks as reported previously. Hoping to go away tomorrow it will be our first ever Winter trip out, We did need to remove the snow and ice first from the cover which was laborious but hopefully it will be worth it.
I park the caravan next to some bushes and now always cover when I'm not using it for a few weeks. Keeps the green off the van an helps to stop anything starting to moss up imho. I left previous caravans in the elements and they start to look tired very quickly, just like if you left it in a field. I use a KAMPA one, so not made for the caravan, but fits pretty well. 10 mins to put on and 5 mins to take off (unless it is frozen on). No tigers here either. 😄
Had a few vans over the years, always uncovered, and had to wash the algae and moss off all of them before use, this winter I've covered the van for the first time ever,so looking forward to seeing if there's much difference.been to check the inside regularly and so far everthing is looking good.
Thinking that a cover is also a good deterrent against theft.
I built a lean too for my caravan and put netting on the side. This keeps 90% of the rain off the caravan but some still blows in. It also keeps the UV rays off the caravan as well, but the air can still move around the van. Their are trees at the back but the van is not getting green.
