Hi all.

Posted a few days ago about some rot in the rear (of the van) and I'm going to tackle it!

I've yet to strip the wall back but wanted to price up the cost of materials. I know the price of ply but what do I need in the way of insulation? Also is there a specific damp preventer once the good wood is in?

What resin should I use to bond it all together?

Depends on the age ofthe van and the materials.

If its an older van it may have fibre insulation. You can replace with polystyrene sheet instead.

people have used all sorts of glues and you will get 20 different answers.

From the silicone sealants to common ones like Sticks Like Sh*t. make sure its temperature resistant especially cold and waterproof to some degree.

I used a solvent free adhesive when I did my door frame on my old lynton executive, as some solvent adhesives can affect your polystyrene insulation. think it was an evostick one if I remember.

My van is a 92 Musketeer. It will probably have the styrene insulation

Its a good idea to use use preservative treated wood. To glue it all together use an exterior grab glue like Evostik Serious Stuff. For resealing exterior use PU sealant like Sikaflex 512 or similar product.
