Hello I been quoted £160 for a brake strip down and service , is this reasonable ?

Just the brakes? Sounds steep unless they are replacing parts also.

Even if they take an hour to do each side which they wont its sounds too much.

For just a chassis service, service of brakes & repack bearings(old caravan)my place charges £85. This for single axle caravan. If parts are required, ie new brake shoes or whatever then this chargable extra.

If the quote is for just chassis service, single axle with any parts required chargable extra then yes, expensive, but prices will vary around the country, dearer in London, I suppose?

My mobile engineer does a full chassis service including a strip down and adjustment of the brakes for £90. Any parts replaced would cost extra.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

Hi guys after the advice I shopped around and got brakes , degrese bairings and chassis service for £99 cheers for the heads up

I'm a mobile engineer based in Northumberland, I charge £90 for a single axle and £110 for a twin axle.
