Just got a lunar premier 415 gts caravan, its a 1996 model, its the type with 2 bunks at the rear and the panel from the door to the rear of the van has damp in it and needs replacing and the damp sorting out.
Im pretty handy at diy but some guidance would be welcome ie: how do i get the panel off without damaging the outside skin of the van ?
The rest of the van is solid and in great condition.

Theres no definite way, just whatever is easiest. Caravans are built from inside outwards. Floor on chassis, furniture fitted then sides/front/back then roof. So you can see that repairs from inside are always going to involve a bit of brute force but you should be able to remove inner panel & replace wood structure as necessary without harming outside skin. Use a good exterior grab glue like Evostik Serious Stuff.

Have you located and stopped the leak that is causing the damp? it could be that having done so the area you refer to would dry out without structural damage.

sorry not nit picking here and nothing to do with your damp but are you really sure about the caravan being a lunar premier 415 gts? I thought 415 gts was an abbey

Have removed all the polystyrene and rotten wood, the rest of the wood has dried out and is quite solid
Read about using sikaflex or fixall but how do i stick the polystyrene panels between the wooden frame ?
Am i supposed to spread the fixall/sikaflex over the caravan wall then stick the polystyrene to it then do the same with the plywood ?
Not to sure how to proceed any advice appreciated
