Hello!

I have and Abi Transtar carvan. So far I've been dubious about using the grill and the oven very much because of the following problems:
- some of the grill sometimes doesn't light, only stays fully lit turned down low
- the oven stays lit, but after about a minute starts making a guttering sound, hard to describe but kind of a chugging noise and the flame wobbles.

Is the oven safe to use? I think the grill just needs taking out and a really good clean, but does anyone know if the oven is normal?

Cheers!

When was the van last serviced?

The oven/grill would be checked during a service. Explosion risk/ CO poisoning not really funny, so get it checked professionally.

Are you using propane or butane gas? In this weather you need to use propane in red bottle. Butane in blue bottle is unreliable at low temps.

Hi, I acquired it in October, no idea when it was last serviced. Unfortunately I can't really afford a professional check that's why I thought to put it out there. cheers

Do the rings work ok? If not suspect regulator on top of gas bottle. These do not last forever. If rings are ok then try giving oven & grill burners a clen with small wire brush & clean with meths. It would help if you could give them a blast with an airline as well.
