The van is a 2008 abbey safari (also known as the vogue). We bought this van back in October and generally is in good condition. We have noticed that we kept getting a light green/grey dry looking mold on the vertical surfaces. We've been dealing with this by putting some salt pots down and changing them every couple of weeks which has stopped the surface mold appearing. Now we're just trying to resolve why we are having to do this and this is what we have come across. Just under the door there is a piece of plastic which the pull out fly screen runs along. Under this is a raised piece of wood creating a cable void under......well this raised piece of wood is saturated so we're looking at the door seal. There is a white seal which sits over the raised profile of the door assembly, this seal also has a wide section which sits flush against the wall panel giving a nice finished appearance. The joining place of this strip is directly at the bottom of the door so any water which is collecting to the outside of this seal is potentially being drawn across at this point via a capillary action.....is that correct or should the joint be on the side or top....
The other question I have is the back seal on the door itself has two slits along the bottom edge..seem to be equidistant from the sides....is that normal . Any other advice would be greatly appreciated
