I've managed to crush the floor of my van with the front left hand steady bracket, resulting in the winding nut being pushed up to the side body of the van, I am toying with the idea of strengthening the floor area, where the steady is mounted, with an aluminium plate. Is there a better method? Any advice would be welcome.
Were you trying to level the van with the corner steadies? as they are only designed to rest on the floor with a slight pressure, enough to hold the van in a level aspect, they aren't designed to carry the whole weight of the van. If I were you i'd just repair the floor with a plywood 'plate' over the damaged area.
------------- Give a man a fish and he'll feed his family for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he'll sit around on a boat all day drinking beer!
Unfortunately, a little over exuberance in getting settled. The front part of the bracket, has sunken unto the underbelly. I've got images, but can't see how to post them.
