Well! finally tackled the hitch shock absorber on my
bailey beachcomber club 320-2
(problem was after braking, then pulling away again would get a thump up the backside.)
the job went to plan (weather brill) but!!
as the job progressed and I removed the rearmost bolt I found I was able to withdraw the shock absorber...........Yikes!!
Can you believe it,the blooming thing was NOT connected at the front end...gulp!
The Shock absorber was rigorously tested in the vice and found to be A1, so reassembled and all feels good.
One thing I would appreciate your advice/comments on is with the hitch bolts locking device.
the front bolt/nut fits and is locked securely, But! the rearmost bolt/nut the locking plate/device does not appear to reach far enough to lock the nut in place.
I have got a piccy of the culprit, the picture is in my profile gallery if someone would cast an experienced eye over it.
I have not got a clue how to move it to this post.
