Hi, we have a 2000 Fleetwood Countryside 500/5.
Our cooker works fine on gas but the other appliances don't. The manifolds are all set to "open" so there should be gas flow. Am I missing another switch somewhere? Neither fridge nor heating and water are working on gas.

Could be the regulator on your gas bottle that is faulty, failing that wait and see if Gary from Arc systems turns up

There are usually some gas isolation valves under the kitchen cupboard for each appliance. Make sure these are on.

Cooker will run with no electric or 12volt but water heater and heating will require 12volt. Is this connected and working.

Thanks guys. The 12v lights are working, would the heating etc. be separate? As the cooker is working I suppose the regulator on the gas bottle should be ok?

If you have butane gas and it was cold, say 5C or below ish, the gas will work for a short while then stop making you think you've run out.

Don't forget that the pilot lights to the fridge and boiler are quite small and the air in the pipe will take quite a long time to be expelled.

If you haven't used the fridge or boiler on gas for some time you will need to allow plenty of time for them to light.

Before you start taking things to pieces, suggest you spend at least 10 minutes trying.

Do you have to light the cooker manually or is it electronic ignition?

The above may sound a daft question but sometimes you have to rule out certain things by trial and error.

All the gas appliances should have seperate isoloating valves, make sure they're all turned on, turning them on should be an anti-clockwise turn, if they're off, turn them fully anti-clockwise then back them off a little.

Oh heck just realised as we haven't been able to use our caravan for almost a year i'm going to have a bit of fun testing everything out before we use it again in 2 weeks time :-(

That's why I asked this question because the fridge and hot water heater are not lit manually like the cooker, they are lit by electronic ignition which means that you have to have a 12 volt power source for the igniter to operate which in turn means you need a fully charged leisure battery connected. If you have got a battery connected then check that the switch CAR/VAN is switched to VAN and if that proves to be okay then the problem is more likely to be just trapped air in the gas pipes.
Even after caravanning for several years even I have made the simple mistake by not activating the VAN switch and sometimes even the fridge can prove difficult as it take numerous attempts to get it to light due to trapped air in the gas pipe. Once the air has been expelled it should be okay and shouldn't have any more problems.
Just make sure that any gas taps are turned on especially if the caravan has recently been serviced as it's common practice that the engineer doesn't leave them how he found them and leave them closed.
