Hi, long time since I've needed to post on here but could do with a little help/advice. We have a 2006 compass rambler 18/6 (dealer special based on a corona 656 I think) we have had it nearly four years and I have noticed that the central wall unit which is nearly over the wheel well is coming away from the caravan wall, the unit is on the nearside which will get most of the pounding from potholes at the sides of the road etc, do you guys reckon it could be general vibration or a possible failed suspension bush (the axle is bpw), i'm not sure how to identify if its the rubber bushing that's at fault. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

have y ou had a professional damp test done recently? its more likely to be that causing the wall to bow out slightly

I would say it was more likely to be an unbalanced tyre on the nearside wheel as it's been known for door hinge screws to come loose due to vibration. My advice is to get it checked for balancing first even if it costs a small fee because you need to do an elimination process before stripping any suspension down. If the caravan has been serviced then the engineer should detect defective suspension but he won't detect an unbalanced tyre.

ATS said i didnt need my tyres balancing when they fitted them, I had to insist that they did.

Car tyres are always balanced but caravan tyres are not unless asked to do so by the customer because by law we are not allowed to travel in the caravan so we are completely unaware of any rumbling or vibration when in tow. That's why you never hear of a wheel coming off a car but you do on a caravan and even if you check the caravan wheel bolts periodically, in severe cases of unbalancing the wheel can detach from the hub.
My advice would be to get both tyres checked for balance just to be on the safe side.
