I brought this kit to make the job easier and take away the stress of wiring in Universal Wiring with relay, and all went well until instructions said insert a 20 amp fuse into F36 on the REC.
F36 is a blank/spare and thus the mini fuse will not go in, but get this F37 which the Haynes Manual says is a spare has terminals in it with no fuse?
Has the spec of the car been changed at all does anyone know or does it now not meant to have a fuse because there is power to the socket pins as the lights on trailer work although not in the right sequence i.e one indicator is brake light etc
I have changed the lights on my Erde 102 as old ones corroded as was the plug so changed that too following a diagram
This Erde 102 trailer has lights that are not wired directly to the blades on bulb holders but has a pin and plug system on the back like this
Hello mate. I've just fitted 12s to my Astra, having already have the 12N installed professionally, or so I thought.
It was installed okay and was the genuine GM article, and it worked, however they had not programmed the car. Hence there was no supply to fuse 36 on the REC. Once I had programmed with car with OPCOM (trailer hitch - set to PRESENT) then my dashboard trailer indicator LED started working and there was then a 12v supply to fuse point 36!
The bit I had trouble with with the 12S kit was getting the fuse tap for the switched live into position, as it was right underneath a relay.
I think my next move is a trip to Vauxhall Dealer and get the Car Pass Security Code which I need to get into programming on Op-Com Diagnostics which I have
With that and the towbar Wiring Tester due to arrive soon I should get somewhere

That little towbar wiring tester is a handytool, Not sure if i bought mine from the same seller. But they will all be much the same.
Not seen many cheap 13 pin ones though. Anyone come across a cheap 13 pin tester?
ZAFBLOKE did you managevto get this sorted? Looking to buy same kit and have same issue of no sockets in fuse 36!

Sorry for very late reply yes turns out did not need a fuse I think maybe it is fused from the plug in module but mine has been working straight out of the box did not even have to use diagnostics to turn the module on
I bought both genuine Vauxhall kits 12n&12s the 12 n works perfect when you plug trailer in all works turn on fog lights turn the ones on the car which it’s meant to do but 12s is dead I take it it needs programming any ideas thanks in advance
